An earthquake of magnitude 4.9 grades on the Richter scale struck the region of Arequipa just before midnight, according to a report by the Geophysical Institute of Peru (IGP).
The epicenter of the quake was located 20 kilometers south of the district of Maca, with a depth of 10 kilometers and an intensity of grade III-IV.
The National Institute of Civil Defense has not yet reported any physical harm or property damage due to the earthquake.
