The United State Geological Survey (USGS) is reporting a series of earthquakes in north central Oklahoma over the past twenty-four hours.
From Crescent to Medford and Perry to Mooreland USGS has reported at least sixteen earthquakes. The largest was a 4.2 temblor at 8:21 a.m. Saturday morning centered in an area 12 miles north of Crescent and 25 miles southeast of Enid. There were no reports of damage.
The series of quakes began just before 4:00 p.m. Friday afternoon with a reported 3.3 quake nine miles east-southeast of Helena, OK in Alfalfa County. Just before 8:00 p.m. Friday the USGS reported a 4.0 quake 19 miles north-northwest of Crescent, they have since downgraded that quake to a 3.7 magnitude.
