A POLITICAL commentator who served under Hillary Clinton has said she was up against Russia, the FBI and history in her battle for the White House.
Speaking soon after the key battleground state of Florida was called for Donald Trump, Jehmu Greene appeared to start seeking to deflect the blame for Mrs Clinton’s failings away from the controversy-plagued candidate.
Ms Greene was appointed by Mrs Clinton to serve on the US National Commission for Unesco in 2010.
Speaking on Sky News the Clinton supporter said: “Let’s just look back at this election. “Hillary Clinton was running against Donald Trump, she was also running against Russia.
“She then started running against the FBI, director Comey, the leaks that were coming out.
“She was running against history and 238 years of men in the White House.”
She added: “If anyone can do it [win the election] Hillary Clinton can.”
Ms Greene was referring to repeated claims Mrs Clinton and the Democratic party had been targeted by Kremlin-backed hackers.
The FBI was also heavily criticised by Clinton supporters for launching a probe into the former First Lady’s emails less than two weeks before the Presidential election.
After Florida and its 29 electoral votes were called for Mr Trump, bookmakers, media commentators and political reporters all moved to say they now made the Republican candidate the favourite.
