Kim Jong-un’s state media mouthpiece NCNA declared the hydrogen bomb’s power is adjustable to hundreds of kilotons and can be detonated at high altitudes.
It also boasted that these latest components would allow the country to build as many nuclear weapons as it wants.
KCNA reported: “Kim Jong-un said he felt the pride at the indomitably bolstering up of [North Korea’s] nuclear forces despite a great price as he watched the Juche-oriented thermonuclear weapon with super explosive power made by our own efforts and technology.
“He expressed great satisfaction over the fact that our scientists can do anything without fail if the party is determined to do.
“The scientists further upgraded its technical performance at a higher ultra-modern level on the basis of precious successes made in the first H-bomb test.”
In the last two weeks the despot nation has attempted several missile launches and threatened the US-territory of Guam.
Earlier on Saturday, Kim Jong-un continued his war of words with US President Donald Trump across international waters, claiming any attempts by the “puppets” to locate North Korea’s ballistic missile launchers will not produce any useful result.
Rodong Sinmun, another mouthpiece of the North’s ruling Workers’ Party, scorned the war allies military drills to detect and destroy the reclusive state’s transporter-erector-launcher (TEL) as nothing but “laughable”.
The North Korean propaganda site said: “Any attempt by the puppets to detect and destroy our TELs in advance is nothing but a silly dream.
“The puppets in South Korea will never avoid catastrophes as long as they continue to run amok.”
t said: ”Our strategic weapons are ready to thoroughly annihilate the strongholds of aggression and provocation from any unpredictable region and place anytime.”
Trump’s administration has vowed that all options were still on the table following an earlier threat by the President that the US would retaliate with “fire and fury” if provoked by North Korea.
The Republican also tweeted: “The US has been talking to North Korea, and paying them extortion money, for 25 years. Talking is not the answer!”
On Tuesday the rogue state launched an intermediate range ballistic missile (IRBM) which flew over Japan.
